Closed Rhinoplasty
A closed rhinoplasty is a popular rhinoplasty procedure because it is done through the nostrils. The incision is small and not visible from the outside. The incision will be formed in the nostrils, and a sharpened piece of silicone will be inserted into the nostrils from the ridge to the tip. The wound will then be sutured closed with a stitch.
Because closed rhinoplasty surgery is unable to make the nose smaller, it is best suited for patients who have minimal difficulties with nose structure and do not have too little nasal tissue.
At Wansiri Hospital, we opt for using high-grade silicone for the augmentation, with case-by-case silicone shaping to provide the nose with an appealing shape that complements your face.
Silicone
We use high-quality silicone from the United States of America. The silicone used is pure and approved for medical use, thus your health will not be endangered. The implant is fairly soft and high elasticity. It has a milky white color with a smooth surface. This implant will not shrink over time and will hold its shape, making your nose look prominent and perfect forever.
Gore-Tex (ePTFE)
Gore-Tex (ePTFE) is a medical-grade implant that plastic surgeons use in making vascular grafts (artifical veins). Its porous texture allows for the tissue to be in close contact with the implant, creating natural-looking results and solving problems of crooked noses or piercing implants.

FAQS
How permanent are the implants? Does it have to be changed annually?
The implants (silicone or Gore-Tex) are permanent and will never need to be changed or replaced.
Is there a chance that I might be allergic to the implants?
Yes, but it is very unlikely.
What is the main factor that would contribute to a lopsided nose dorsum despite undergoing surgery?
The main factor that would contribute to a lopsided dorsum is if the implant is not properly fitted. Thus the plastic surgeon will have to take the shrinking of the implant as well.
Could I specifically focus the operation on fixing the bridge of my nose without using an implant that extends to the tip of my nose?
Yes, the patient can focus the operation on the bridge of their nose.
Can I undergo a Closed Rhinoplasty if I have a crooked or convex nose?
Yes, the ridges and grooves in the nose can be corrected with implants. However, if the patient is seeking a more permanent solution in fixing the structure of their nose, we recommend undergoing an Open Rhinoplasty instead.
Am I still able to undergo a Closed Rhinoplasty if I have previously gotten fillers?
Yes, but the filler may need to be dissolved or scraped off 2 weeks before undergoing the procedure.
Am I able to sleep on my side post-surgery?
The patient should not sleep on their side for the first 3 days after undergoing surgery as it may distort and change the shape of the nose.
Am I able to wear glasses after undergoing a Closed Rhinoplasty?
The patient should avoid wearing glasses for 6 months post-surgery and should wear contact lenses instead during that period.
