The Surgical Approaches for Vaginoplasty are as follows:
1.Graft Vaginoplasty
Graft vaginoplasty is a surgical approach where penile skin is only used for constructing the new external genitals without undergoing abdominal surgery. The typical vaginal depth is approximately 6 inches.
Graft vaginoplasty is the standard approach for patients undergoing gender affirmation surgery for transgender women for the first time. This approach is not sophisticated and contains low risks.
2.Colon Vaginoplasty
Colon vaginoplasty is an approach that can be performed for patients who are undergoing gender affirmation surgery for the first time or who desire to correct physical imperfections, such as vaginal stenosis, or patients who desire to extend a vaginal canal. This approach requires patients to undergo laparoscopic surgery with a small incision. A 7-8-inch-long colon is detached and becomes part of the vaginal lining. The external appearance is identical to that of graft vaginoplasty. The operation duration is 6-7 hours, performed by surgeon specialists divided into 3 units: anesthesiologists, laparoscopic surgeons, and surgeon specialists.

3. Penile Peritoneum Vaginoplasty (PPV)

The penile skin is used to construct the labium, which is sutured with the abdominal tissue. This approach results in a smoother texture, and some patients report that it is also self-lubricating.
